Boston Mayor Tom Menino and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel both made remarks recently that the restaurant chain “Chick-fil-A was not welcomed in either of their cities due to the CEO’s support of traditional marriage. Democrats in Washington are already distancing themselves from the controversy.
Senator John Kerry, Massachusetts, Democrat, told me on Thursday, “People have the right to support what they want.” Kerry then added, “I want to know what the mayor’s thinking is on it, but I’d have some serious questions about that.” (Listen here)

Earlier, Congressman Danny Davis, Illinois Democrat, told me he did “did not support” the concept of politicians banning businesses based on CEOs’ personal religious beliefs.
“I think people should have the right to believe whatever it is they believe. That’s what America is about. That’s what America promotes. That’s what I believe and I think my rights end where the next person’s rights begin,” Rep. Davis told me on Thursday. (Listen here)
