The Washington Times Online Edition

Newsroom Internship Program

The Washington Times is a major multimedia organization based in the nation's capital, with an audience that stretches across the country and around the world.

The Times aspires to help teach, train and prepare the next generation of journalists by offering paid and unpaid internships to talented, motivated and resourceful college students who want to develop their skills, cultivate valuable contacts, and produce quality stories, photos and multimedia products.

TWT interns do not make coffee, run errands, or sit and watch professional journalists do their jobs. From their first day, TWT interns are put to work as journalists — with supervision by skilled editors on a variety of desks: Nation/Politics, Sports, Metro, Business, Foreign, Features, Graphics, Photography and Copy Desk.

Unpaid internships are available throughout the year. Paid internships are available for eight weeks each summer. TWT interns are paid $400 a week. (Transportation to and housing in Washington, D.C., are not included.) The 2012 summer internship program will run from Monday, June 25, through Friday, Aug. 17.
