The Daily Caller: Bradley Cooper to play Satan in Milton adaptation

Bradley Cooper to play Satan in Milton adaptation

Bradley Cooper is taking on the role of Satan in the upcoming film adaptation of John Milton’s epic poem “Paradise Lost.”

In an interview with the Huffington Post on Monday, the Georgetown graduate confirmed that he had gotten the part and playfully discussed how he would go about playing the Devil.

“‘Paradise Lost,’ that seems like the realest one. That’s happening,” he told HuffPo.

The 17th-century poem, concerning the Christian story of how Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden, is set to appear on the big screen in 3D in 2012. Mr. Coopers character is a central figure in the story, and the actor seems to be among the first cast.

In an eventful year for the Hollywood A-lister, Mr. Cooper starred in “Limitless,” his first solo-leading role. The movie opened in first place in March and will be released on DVD/Blu-ray on Friday. Currently, Mr. Cooper is in Schenectady, N.Y., preparing for his newest film, “The Place Beyond the Pines,” in which he will play a rookie cop.

“I’m just up here prepping. We’ve just been sort of hanging out with all the cops here and going on ride-alongs and its been incredible,” Mr. Cooper said. “Its pretty intense, its definitely pretty intense. I’m very lucky to be able to do stuff like this. I was really just saying to my mother this morning, I’m like the luckiest guy in the world to be an actor, to be able to go into these other persons professions and be able to walk in their shoes, so its incredible. … We went on a ride-along until 11 p.m. last night. It was … something.”

Nikki Blonsky accused of faking ‘boyfriends’

To try to revamp her sagging career, “Hairspray” star Nikki Blonsky has allegedly been creating fake relationships to make her more appealing in the media, the New York Post reported Monday. Audiences may remember Miss Blonsky from her 2007 portrayal of Tracy Turnblad in the blockbuster musical, but her recent acting gigs have been minor and unsuccessful.

Blake Woodruff, a talent manager at Prestige Management Group, says Miss Blonsky used him in a ploy to promote her career.

“Shes always trying to create a scene to promote herself. She would use me as her boyfriend and then contact her publicist to make sure our dates were known,” Mr. Woodruff told the Post.

According to Mr. Woodruff, she even asked him to identify himself as her boyfriend at an event.

Mr. Woodruff adds that he is not her only phony boy-toy. Last month, Miss Blonsky was photographed kissing rising actor Tommy Potoeski. Both Mr. Potoeski and Miss Blonskys rep confirmed the relationship, yet according to her Twitter account she is “openly and happily single,” said her rep.

The rep also denied Mr. Woodruff’s claims, saying “[the accusations are] 100 percent not true. I have never actively pitched a story with her regarding any boyfriends.”
