LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Obama helped lose Egypt

So President Obama at last is giving the American people a glimpse at his true allegiances, with the Muslim Brotherhood the vehicle of the revelation ("Who lost Egypt?" Commentary, Tuesday).

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and President Obama have curried favor with the Muslim Brotherhood's president-elect, Mohammed Morsi through the monetary gift of a $1.5-billion "lump-sum, no-strings-attached grant to the Egyptian government" at a time when Americans are faced with financial crisis. This president is turning his back on liberty as he ingratiates himself to the Muslim Brotherhood and Shariah law. As Lady Liberty hemorrhages, Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton are measuring her for a burqa and perhaps preparing tea for the release of the "Blind Sheik," Omar Abdul Rahman.

We may well ask who lost Egypt, but heaven forbid that we ever ask who lost Lady Liberty, freedom or democracy. Frank Gaffney Jr.'s column was right on target. Mr. Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood appear to be clearing the way for a path to Shariah.
